About Me
My journey began at the Great Western Building in Kala Ghoda, one of the oldest buildings in Mumbai. It gave me my earliest introduction to heritage architecture as well as my first mentor and guru – Wilfred Louis (senior DOP/Cameraman), a close family friend and neighbour who introduced me to the magic of photography when I was just 13.
The day after I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Sociology), he connected me to the maverick photographer Colston Julian, and it wasn’t long before I found myself working as his main assistant. Handling big production shoots with their army-like regime, equipped me to tackle tough situations.
At the end of 2002, I joined M.W.COM Pvt. Ltd, where I assisted the technical genius Harsh Man Rai (Creative Director/Photographer). During my tenure here, I shot people, fashion, products, etc. for Man’s World and Rolling-Stone magazines. I was also the photo editor for MyWorld (Big Bazaar publication) and Yuva. The company was kind enough to permit me to take on freelance editorial and advertisement assignments too.
I live by the words of French humanist photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson who said, “It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart, and head.”
Among the renowned personalities I have been privileged to capture on camera are Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, A.R. Rahman, Bappi Lahiri, Shane Warne, Astaad Deboo, S.H. Raza and many more.
Brands I Worked with
I have had the opportunity to photograph some of the biggest personalities and brands, interesting spaces, dazzling jewels, tantalizing food, automobiles and more. I have shot advertising campaigns for brands like Amazon India, Star TV, HDFC, Domino’s Sri Lanka, Big Bazaar, Mahindra Odyssea, Blue Star air-conditioners, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Abbott Pharmaceutical, fashion designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed, KamaSutra, ICICI Lombard, to name a few.

For someone with no formal training in photography, these past 22 years as a photographer have been creatively fulfilling. The thought of capturing a fleeting moment of our lives for eternity is what continues to bring me joy.
